Is there a deer cam that you can monitor from your computer?

I know there are some our there that have the capability, but get ready to spend alot of money. They have satellite capability, and are not cheap.

How to make Deer Roast?

I was wondering if deer roast can be made along the same lines as a pork or beef roast? I make my roast in a crock pot, and I wanted to make my deer in there as well? I have never had to make a deer roast before, but this year I got my first deer and wanted to make a roast with the tenderloins for Thanksgiving. How to make Deer Roast?
I meant to answer this earlier.

Apparently cauliflower pares well with deer roast because most recipes I have for deer roast call for cauliflower as a vegetable.

And remember to soak your deer meat in salt water before cooking. (it draws the blood out of it)

Venison Stew

2 lbs. meat, cubed

3 cloves garlic

2 onions, sliced

3 tbsp. vegetable oil

2 bay leaves

1 head cauliflower

3 potatoes, cubed

6 carrots, cubed

1 can tomato sauce

1 tbsp. salt

1 c. water

Throw all in a crock pot and cook until done.

  • Is a whitetail deer a chordata, non-placental mammal?

It's a chordata (it has a vertebral column, like all mammals)

But it DOES have a placenta as well.

The mammals that do not have placentas are marsupials (kangaroos, opossums - use pouches), and monotremes (echidna/platypus - use eggs)

Are you talking about something such as growing heavier coats of fur to withstand the cold? Or developing broader hooves to walk on snow easier?

Are there mule deer in north Arkansas?

I am going to harrison arkansas this winter and i wanted to know if the mule deer are any good up thereAre there mule deer in north Arkansas?
No there are no mule deer in Arkansas.

There are however Elk in the Harrison area but the permits had to be applied for from May 1- July 15.

Very beautiful country here in Arkansas bring a camera and photograph the elk especially in the Jasper area about 15 miles away on Highway 7 south from Harrison.

Our Whitetail season is November 4- December 6.Are there mule deer in north Arkansas?
I live in North central Kansas, and have both in the pasture (Muleys and Whitetails), however the Muleys get pretty scarce to non-existant, 100 miles east of me. I don't think you'll find any in Arkansas...
    Nope.. notta single one.

There are some Elk here in the natural state but you have to win a lottery in order to harvest one.
    Mule deer are western animal

What would you think the best gun for shooting deer would for around 400 dollars?

i only have 400 dollars to spend and i want to get a realy good gunWhat would you think the best gun for shooting deer would for around 400 dollars?
You sound unexperienced, buy a mossberg shotgun or an 870. Steoger makes the wonderful P-350 magnum for 350$What would you think the best gun for shooting deer would for around 400 dollars?
i personally like the 30-06 some say its a little big but when i shoot something i like it to die and not have to chase it down. also if you ever get into hunting elk you wont have to get a different gun. Another one that tons of people really lean towards is the 270. if you want one of those the best are by far a weather bee but that might be expensive so remington is not bad either. and the 06 personally i think rugger makes a fine one.
Rifles that hover around the $400 are the Weatherby Vanguard / Howa 1500 line, Savage and a few Remingtons and then the Mossberg ATR and Marlin XL-7 are closer to $300 as are Stevens (bare bones Savage). The local WalMart has had some Remington ADL 700s for $450,couple less, and the Savages were $377, either would make fine choices. Only thing few of us would recommend is the Remington 770, not a great choice. I've seen Calbela's have some ADL 700s for $400 too. Oh, some of the WalMart guns have usable scopes mounted also, not great scopes so look at getting a bare gun and $175 for a Nikon Pro Staff scope.

My preference is for a bolt action rifle, because I hunt in conditions that can have 400 yard shots to 30 foot shots and I want to err on the side of 400. That keeps 30-30 and most lever action guns out of the mix. As most states have 243 as the minimum caliber, I would get something a little more forgiving than the min. 270,30-06 and 308 should be enough for any hunting situation except the largest Alaskan bears and I've had 30-06s since I was 14. With knowing my rifle and bullets I wouldn't hesitate on a shot at 350 to 400 yards even on elk with any of them. 30-06 gives you the best choice of energy and bullet weights over either of the others, and can be loaded with any shooter in mind. My 11 year old can shot reduced recoil in my 30-06.
I'd look for a Savage model in one of the 30 calibers. Savage makes good, honest firearms at lower prices than Winchester, Browning, and Howa (or is it Tika?), all of which come from the same factory - in Japan.

30-06, also called 30 Springfield, 30 Government, or even 7.62x 63mm has plenty of power for 'most any North American game, and you can still find military surplus ammo for plinking and home defense.

The .308 Winchester, aka 30 NATO, 7.63mm NATO, 7.62 x 51mm, etc is essentially a short-action 30-06 with just a tad less room for powder, but was invented after powder became more efficient, so you get the same nominal load from either cartridge. There's tons of surplus ammo for this cartridge, too, as it's still being used by militaries all over the world.
Well that's plenty of $$$ to spend on a Rifle, but if you buy a Good used Remington or Savage used you will have lots of $$$ left to buy ammo etc.* Buy a Bolt action rifle in 30-06, 308, 270, or 243 caliber.* A New Rifle Does Not shoot any better than a Good Used One.*
i have a similar problem, but from what i have seen and heard, savages are way more gun than what you pay for them. Savage 111 series in .270, or 30.06 would be fine, and they cost about $400. Also look for people selling them, sometimes you can find good guns for $300 or so.
depends on where your hunting, if your hunting heavy cover, thick forest I think a good .30-.30 would be enough. If its a little clearer or you have some open pastures, etc...I think a .270 will probably take down what you shoot at.
get a ruger .308 of some type. They're great guns and its a perfect caliber for almost any game. They're nearly indestructible and fairly cheap as well. Good luck and have fun.
A 12-gauge pump shotgun. You can get rifled barrels for them which will allow you to use slugs out to 100 yards. Also, you can get different barrels for different applications.
