How are deer rated? What does it mean when one is a ';140'; or ';160';?

it's the length between the antlers. How are deer rated? What does it mean when one is a ';140'; or ';160';?
It's the total in inches of the length of each antler. Plus the height of each tine. Minus deductions for each tine that is shorter than the other side.

Ex. Take both hands and hold up the 4 fingers, Say your left pinky finger was shorter than your right by 1 inch. You would deduct that 1 inch from the total. If one side has 3 tines and the other 2 tines, you would deduct that height. Ex. L pinky 2 inches, no R pinky, deduct 2 inches.

The tines are called..G1, G2, G3, G4 and so forth, starting from the front. Hope this helps.
