Browning makes some nice ones -What is the best semi auto gun for hunting whitetail deer?
You do not specify if you will be hunting in a rifle or shotgun state.

Shotgun Remington 1100 with rifled slug barrel (not cantilever) several scope mounting options will allow you to still see the sights under the scope.

I can not recomend any rifles that are automatic. I only use bolt, lever or pump actions. Automatic rifles are illegal in the states I hunt.
Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR).

You can get them chambered in just about any caliber, including some of the harder to come by Winchester short magnums, but they are a bit on the pricey side.

You really don't need, or want, a semi-auto for deer. An ethical hunter only shoots deer when they are standing still, and a bolt action is going to be a bit more accurate than the semi-auto. If you need rapid shot repetition, it sounds like you're planning to shoot at moving deer. That's a big no-no, and it makes hunters look bad as a whole.
i have to differ from roadhunter shooting moving deer is ethical. it requires skill and allows for just as clean kills.

lots of hound hunters kill deer in just one shot but i would limit the shots to 80 yards on moving deer

winchester model 100 in 308
remington 1100 20 gauge for close quarters.
Consider a Remington 750 Woodsmaster.... Either chambered in .270, .308 or 30-06..... This rifle is fairly accurate to 150 yards.... I would not attempt to take long shots with it but for closer in shots this rifle would shine!......

Another rifle semi-auto rifle to consider for deer is a Ruger Mini 30 chambered in 7.62X39MM..... This cartridge has 1000 foot pounds of energy required for white tail deer to 150 yards.... Mine is topped off with a Nikon 2-7X32MM scope. I have had great success taking deer to 125 yards but would surely refrain from taking longer shots....
