What's with the mouth cover when you are hunting deer?

i saw it in a video. What's with the mouth cover when you are hunting deer?
Strictly to break up your facial outline to help make your body blend into your surroundings. It does nothing to filter out human scent from your body or breath. You'll see it most often being used by Deer and Turkey hunters, because both animals have heightened senses of movement awareness in their natural surroundings. What's with the mouth cover when you are hunting deer?
2 purposes. It helps keep the human scent away from the prey. Scent is the number one cause of sppoking an animal.

second, it helps break up the outline of the face.
It's to break up the outline and hide the color of your face.

Some folks prefer it to camo facepaint.

It does little to conceal your smell, though.

The scent particles, being only a few microns across, will easily pass through cloth.
I wear a neoprene 1/2 face shield- when its cold

Its purpose is so I dont breath in the ice cold air and for camouflage purposes

or a folded in 1/2 camouflage kerchief tied over my nose/ mouth- as to break up my shiny face appearance - outline and for the cold

IF you wash with a scent shield soap ( mine smells like dead leaves) you shouldnt have a problem with human scent

dont brush your teeth with toothpaste ( too harsh of smell)
You might mean the Cough Silencer??? It keep your coughs silent so deer dont hear unnatural noise
