Morality Question: Per the “OnStar” commercial on TV, given the choice, would you hit the Deer, or the Tree?
Estimated damage for hitting Deer: $00.00 - $2000.00
Estimated damage for hitting Tree: $5000.00 - $40,000.00, + injury/death
You know MY choice: Venison sausage. Which do YOU choose?Morality Question: Per the “OnStar” commercial on TV, given the choice, would you hit the Deer, or the Tree?
The deer. You are supposed to hit a deer head on and not try to swerve around it in any way at all, so using my instincts, I would go straight for the deer. If there was a third option that said that I could swerve out of the way, I would not, for the deer could react by running into the side of my car and run my car and me into a tree.Morality Question: Per the “OnStar” commercial on TV, given the choice, would you hit the Deer, or the Tree?
LOL!!!! Heck, I live in the land of the deer crossing the road. I follow some rules of thumb.... I do NOT do 55 on these rural roads from dusk til dawn! That is just too fast to avoid the deer. Simple.
BUT even at 40- sometimes you might get ran in front of. The other rule is hit the brakes, but NEVER swerve! You got that right.
Venison is a better choice than hitting a tree. I'm with you.
You always have more choices than you allow yourself to consider. Better if you don't expand your realizations and train your mind to consider quickly and efficiently. Sometimes he who hesitates (and evaluates) is saved.

Rationally I would choose to hit the deer. But human nature is to swerve away from something in front of you in the road. I've nearly crashed from swerving to miss a chipmunk before when rationally I would hit the chipmunk every time.
Save the whales.... save the whales.... save the whales..... shoot the seals.... yeah shoot those baby seals....
Hit the deer!! There is a chance the deer will move...no really good chances of the tree moving! That is exactly why they tell you to not try and miss the animal!! Just run it over!
The last time I hit a deer there wasn't time to decide anything. It was pitch dark and the poor deer got killed instantly. I still feel bad about it.
a good driver can avoid both
The deer, lets hope it's not like that one in the queens of the stone age video and gets it's revenge.
Well if the choice is my death or the deer's?
Sorry, deer.
I'd stay home and read a book.
That deer is toast.
The deer has give, the tree does not.
Do you make good venison sausage? What about Venison chili?
