Ah too mucha scope. BD recticle not made for slug. Try a Nikon 2x7 or red dot....maybe 4xWould a Acog scope be appropriate on a Mossberg 500 Slugster for deer hunting?
It would work, but it would also sit VERY high, even with the Trijicon factory low mount. You'd have to put a high cheek rest on the stock to be able to aim it properly, but it could be made to work.
A better solution would be to get a Vang Comp combination rear sight rail and put an Aimpoint Micro on it. The Micro sits low enough to co-witness your sights, and keeps you from having to install a cheek rest or pad on the stock, plus it's a pretty clean set-up.
Cheaper than running an ACOG by far, and will work just as well for deer hunting.Would a Acog scope be appropriate on a Mossberg 500 Slugster for deer hunting?
Acog?.... Appropriate?... Geez.... Its not as if your asking the presidents daughter out for a date!.......
Its your money - do what you want...... I personally cant see spending that kind of money to put a scope on a shotgun.... There are far less expensive scopes that will surely do the job quite nicely......
I have one of these Nikon ProStaff shotgun scopes on one of my shotguns. Its reliable, easy to use and for me has been a pleasure to own.....

Acog's are expensive as hell so I would go with sumthin else, plus when i was in the SEAL's, they clearly told us that the Acog was specifically designed for US military assault rifles. And it sits up way too high to put it on your gun. Now it definitely could work but it's expensive and it's a hassle
If I was wanting to use a trijicon on a shotgun, I would go with the accupoint 1x4 power. The ACOG would sit very high and not allow for a proper check weld.
Why would you put such an expensive scope on there? I mean it's your money but dang them are pricey. I would settle for a cheap one that works from bass pro myself lol.
Sure... If you don't mind having a $1200 scope on a $200 gun. You're better off with a Nikon.
For that kind of money go buy a new gun with the scope already mounted.
